Afghanistan’s Health Minister Meets Uzbek Officials to Expand Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Cooperation
In his official office, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the IEA, met with Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, and his accompanying delegation to discuss a number of important health-related issues.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening pharmaceutical trade, facilitating treatment opportunities for Afghan patients in Uzbekistan, and enhancing the capacity of healthcare workers. Both sides also reviewed the implementation plan of the memorandum of understanding between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, along with investment in pharmaceutical production and improving coordination between the two countries.
The Minister of Public Health emphasized that ensuring the quality of medicines, providing standard healthcare services, and strengthening coordination between the two countries are key priorities to deliver quality and reliable healthcare to the people.
The Minister further noted that sustained cooperation between the two countries can help strengthen healthcare systems and ensure timely and effective responses to people’s needs. He stressed that joint efforts should be put into practice, with clear progress in this regard.
Abdullah Azizov also expressed commitment to cooperation, stating that his country is ready to support Afghanistan in pharmaceutical production, exports, knowledge transfer, and capacity building for healthcare workers.
