HIV is not transmitted through the following means

1. Casual contact such as shaking hands, talking, hugging, or social kissing

2. Sharing food or drinking water, including the use of utensils handled by a person living with HIV

3. Use of public or shared swimming pools

4. Sharing common items such as telephones

5. Using shared toilet facilities

6. Insect bites, including those from mosquitoes
