IEA Health Delegation Visits Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital to Explore Advanced Medical Technologies

The Deputy Minister for Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, along with the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Public Health, Sheikh Mohammad Taher Haleem, and the accompanying delegation, visited Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital during their official trip to Turkey.

The purpose of this visit—to closely observe the hospital’s diagnostic departments, acquire insights into advanced medical technologies, and explore their potential integration into Afghanistan’s health-care system and national hospitals—was comprehensively addressed. During the tour, the head of the hospital’s central laboratories provided detailed, technical briefings on the existing state-of-the-art systems, equipment, and methodologies.

Furthermore, the Afghan delegation also visited the hospital’s cutting-edge radiology facilities, including CT scan units, MRI systems, PET scanners, and endoscopy machines as well as their respective departments. The delegation obtained valuable technical information and expressed hope that, in the near future, hospitals in Afghanistan would also be equipped with similar high-standard, modern medical technologies.

The Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital comprises 2,680 beds, is equipped with highly advanced and modern medical technologies, and is located on the European side of Istanbul.
