IEA Public Health Minister Holds Online Meeting with Polio Legacy Challenge Leadership
His Excellency, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, held an online meeting with the executives, sponsors, and senior board members of the Polio Legacy Challenge (PLC).
During the meeting, both sides discussed ongoing cooperation aimed at strengthening Afghanistan’s health system and eradicating polio. They also emphasized the importance of routine immunization and capacity building for health workers across the country.
The Minister of Public Health expressed his appreciation for the continued support and commitment of PLC partners and sponsors, stating that their cooperation has played an important role in improving vulnerable communities’ access to essential health services
Meanwhile, the PLC delegation reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and described joint efforts as vital for addressing various health challenges.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue close cooperation between both sides in order to advance Afghanistan’s health priorities and strengthen the country’s health system in the long term.
It is worth noting that, in addition to ministers and deputy ministers of health from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, several senior representatives of international health organizations also participated in the meeting.
