The Deputy Minister of the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority at the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, along with a high-level delegation, has traveled to Russia to facilitate medicine imports for Afghan traders.

The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding strategic cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia, enhancing the supply and regulatory oversight of food and medicines, and streamlining the import of safe, standardized, and reliable pharmaceutical and food products for Afghan traders

During the visit, the delegation from the Ministry of Public Health’s Food and Drug Authority is scheduled to hold high-level talks with officials from Russia’s medicines and health products regulatory bodies. The discussions will focus on harmonizing standards, expediting registration procedures, reinforcing quality control systems, and establishing effective regulatory frameworks.

The visit will also include site visits to leading Russian pharmaceutical companies to assess production capacity, gain insights into advanced manufacturing processes and quality assurance technologies, and explore avenues for joint investment.
