Minister of Public Health Visits Herat Regional Hospital to Boost Service Quality and Capacity

As part of his official tour to Herat, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, touched down in the province and made a high-profile stop at the Herat Regional Hospital, signaling a renewed focus on ground-level service delivery.
The Minister, flanked by a technical team, toured the hospital’s key departments, assessing operations and identifying critical challenges. He later convened a meeting with local staff to discuss and develop actionable solutions aimed at enhancing both the quality and capacity of services across the board.
In a follow-up session, H.E. Jalali held talks behind closed doors with senior officials from the Provincial Public Health Directorate and the hospital itself. He laid out a roadmap for improved services, took on board the officials' concerns, and pledged full support to ensure that the issues raised don’t fall through the cracks.
Notably, the Herat Regional Hospital, which boasts around 650 active beds, continues to serve as a healthcare lifeline for residents in the west of the country. With its wide range of specialized units, the facility has long been at the front line of public health, though it now faces mounting pressure to scale up its services in line with population growth and modern demands.
