As part of regular checks on hospitals, both in the capital and provinces, the Ministry of Public Health’s Specialty Directorate recently visited Nangarhar Regional Hospital. The aim of these checks is to identify and solve problems in medical programs, ensure the correct teaching methods are being used, and improve the quality of these programs.

The team, led by the Director of Public Health in Nangarhar, visited different departments of the hospital. They focused on reviewing the training programs in areas such as General Surgery, General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Neurosurgery, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Infectious Diseases, Anesthesia, and Pulmonary Medicine. The inspection was carried out in the presence of the hospital’s training doctors and medical staff.

The main purpose of this visit was to make sure that the Specialty Program meets the required standards, solve any problems that might exist, and ensure the program follows the best practices. This is important to keep the quality of medical training high, which in turn helps create skilled specialists. By doing so, the Ministry of Public Health hopes to improve healthcare services and ensure that trained professionals can provide high-quality care to the people of Afghanistan.
