Ministry of Public Health Holds Online Meeting to Address Health Needs of Earthquake-Affected Population in Balkh and Samangan
A meeting was held online to address the health situation of those injured in last night’s earthquake, with the participation of the Directors of Public Health of Balkh and Samangan provinces.
The meeting, chaired by Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Healthcare Services of the Ministry of Public Health, was also attended by several central directors and advisers of the Ministry. The participants discussed measures for responding to the health needs of the earthquake-affected population in Balkh and Samangan provinces.
At the outset, Deputy Minister Haqqani expressed the Ministry’s heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
He further stated that the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health is fully committed to providing all necessary medical resources and services to the earthquake-affected individuals in these provinces. He added that the required emergency measures have already been taken in this regard.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister urged the Directors of Public Health in Balkh and Samangan to ensure accurate reporting and close coordination in assessing the condition of the injured and in delivering timely medical assistance. The directors of both provinces reaffirmed their commitment to full cooperation and assured the Ministry of their readiness to implement any additional measures deemed necessary.
