Ministry of Public Health Inspects Healthcare Services for Returnees in Herat
Herat, Afghanistan – Mawlawi Abdulwali Haqqani, the Deputy Minister of Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, accompanied by his delegation, conducted an on-site inspection of healthcare services being provided to returnees at the Islam Qala border in Herat.
During the visit, Haqqani, alongside a technical team that included Mawlawi Mohammad Talib Shahid, the Director of Public Health in Herat, met with healthcare personnel and issued essential directives. The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of delivering healthcare services to returnees with sincerity, professionalism, and dedication.
The inspection also served as an opportunity to identify and address existing challenges in the healthcare system. The technical team shared these issues with relevant authorities, ensuring coordinated efforts for swift resolution.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Health has deployed healthcare teams to key border regions, including Torkham, Nimruz, Kandahar, and Herat. These teams are providing 24-hour healthcare services across various sectors to meet the needs of returnees and ensure their well-being.
