The Ministry of Public Health organized a blood donation awareness ceremony

The ceremony was held in the presence of the Deputy Minister for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Chief of Staff Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Haleem, central directors of the Ministry, and media representatives.

The Deputy Minister for Health Services said that the MoPH leadership is working to ensure patients have full access to safe and quality blood when needed. He added that over the past year, the National Blood Bank, alongside other health services, has identified the blood groups of around 699,394 people and provided 227,517 pints of blood to patients.

Sheikh Mohammad Taher Haleem also emphasized the importance of blood donation in Islam and its role in saving lives, urging the public to donate blood and help save those in need.

The Director General of Curative Medicine of the MoPH, Dr. Wahdat Alokozai, also briefed participants on the Ministry’s achievements in establishing blood banks, strengthening staff capacity, developing standardized systems, digitizing health services, and promoting the self-sufficiency of blood banks.

At the end of the program, the Head of the National Blood Bank, Dr. Niazgul Niazmand, said that the MoPH’s blood banks across the country provide safe blood services to those in need. He urged the media, social networks, universities, schools, mosques, teachers, doctors, and all public awareness stakeholders to encourage people to donate blood so that patients can receive it when needed.
