MoPH Conducts Awareness Workshop on New Guidelines for Food and Drug Regulation

A two-day awareness workshop was convened by the Directorate of Food and Drugs under the Ministry of Public Health to acquaint provincial health directors and staff with the newly devised guidelines for the regulation of food and pharmaceutical affairs.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister of Public Health, H.E. Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali; Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs, H.E. Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid; several high-ranking officials from the Ministry; key officials from the Directorate.

H.E. Jalali underscored that the new guidelines are pivotal for the quality assurance and standardization of food and medicine affairs.

He put forward recommendations for their seamless implementation and placed strong emphasis on transparency and concerted efforts to tackle prevailing challenges in service delivery.

Deputy Minister Zahid stated that the workshop aims to address persistent issues in the food and medicine sector and to curb the influx of substandard products. He added that the rigorous application of the guidelines will rectify systemic shortcomings and ensure the delivery of high-caliber services.

During the workshop, the Ministry’s procedural framework was meticulously elaborated. Comprehensive briefings were delivered through presentations, offering in-depth insights into the operations of hospitals and pharmacies.
