MoPH Holds One-Day Workshop to Strengthen Community-Level Health Worker Performance
The Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held a one-day workshop titled Community-Level Performance, Assessment, and Incentivization of Health Workers for health volunteers.
It was attended by Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services; Dr Haider Khan Haider, Director General of Disease Prevention and Control; Dr Zabihullah Haris, Director of Primary Health Services; representatives of national and international organisations; and health volunteers. Deputy Minister Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani thanked the health volunteers for their continued efforts and expressed confidence that they would soon renew and strengthen the community-level health service package.
He said that in the past year, community health volunteers visited more than 17 million families and delivered a wide range of services, including support for complicated childbirth cases. He also called on volunteers to further contribute to strengthening the national health system.
Concluding the workshop, participants received detailed briefings on implemented activities, major achievements, and capacity-building programmes through a series of structured presentations.
