MoPH Minister Meets WHO Head to Discuss Expansion of Health Services
The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Noor Jalal Jalali, held a meeting in his office with the Head of the World Health Organization for Afghanistan, Edwin Ceniza Salvador, along with officials from the organization and other representatives, to discuss key issues and review matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the participants held discussions on the expansion of health services, capacity building initiatives, the development of cancer-related services, operational coordination, transparency in services, and the agenda and arrangements for upcoming meetings, along with other related matters.
The Minister of Public Health stressed the importance of the ministry’s national policy and strategic documents, stating that health services and projects should be implemented in line with these documents while taking into account the priorities and needs of the Ministry of Public Health.
The Minister also called on officials of the World Health Organization to pay greater attention to transparency and strengthen coordination, and to take necessary measures to improve the quality of health services and ensure public access to healthcare services.
Meanwhile, the Head of the World Health Organization for Afghanistan reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and to organizing and delivering essential services in accordance with the ministry’s policies and priorities.
