New Routine Immunisation Facility Inaugurated in Helmand to Boost Child Health Services

The Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Bakht-ur-Rahman Sharafat, has officially opened a new building for routine immunisation services in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr Enayatullah Enayat, Director General of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Public Health; Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Hamas, Deputy Governor of Helmand; Mawlawi Fazli Ahmad Shafiullah, Helmand’s Public Health Director; representatives from UNICEF; and a number of healthcare workers.

His Excellency Sharafat described the new facility as an important step towards protecting the health of children. He said it would strengthen immunisation services and improve access to vaccines. He also urged communities to work together to support the country’s development and build a self-reliant and prosperous Afghanistan.
