Minister of Public Health Meets with UK Diplomatic Representatives to Discuss Health Sector Cooperation

The Minister of Public Health of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, held a meeting in his official office with the Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy for Afghanistan, Mr Robert Chatterton Dickson, and the newly appointed UK envoy for Afghanistan, Mr Richard Lindsay, to discuss cooperation and support in several areas of health.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the improvement of Afghanistan’s health system, the priorities of the Ministry of Public Health, capacity-building for Afghan health workers, and support for addiction treatment, cancer patients, and maternal and child health.

Minister Jalali, while expressing his appreciation for the UK’s assistance and cooperation in the health sector, requested support from the newly appointed envoy in the above-mentioned areas.

On the other hand, the British Chargé d’Affaires and the new envoy referred to their country’s ongoing cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to continued support in the health sector.
