Ministry of Public Health Convenes Institutional Review Board (IRB) Meeting

The Ministry of Public Health convened a meeting of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), chaired by Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiyasi, the Deputy Minister for Health Policy and Promotion.

The session brought together advisors to the deputy minister, several central directors, and representatives from relevant institutions. Discussions centered on the IRB’s ongoing activities, the appointment of new members, and the revision of existing operational procedures.

Dr. Ghiyasi stressed the importance of transparency in the board’s operations and highlighted the need for evidence-based decision-making grounded in scientific data and credible research. He emphasized that all health-related studies must align with national priorities and ethical standards to ensure a more efficient and coordinated research process.

According to ministry officials, the review of the IRB’s procedures will be undertaken by a designated committee comprising senior ministry leaders, technical experts, and respected religious scholars.
