His Excellency Jalali welcomed the ambassador and discussed Japan’s contributions to Afghanistan’s health sector, particularly through JICA. The discussion focused on establishing radiology centers at Kabul’s Afghan-Japan and Infectious Disease Specialty Hospitals, enhancing healthcare workers’ skills, improving treatment for drug addiction, strengthening the control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and promoting sustained bilateral cooperation in public health.

Minister Jalali expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued partnership and underscored the importance of its support in several critical areas. He called for expanded collaboration in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of non-communicable diseases, as well as in other specialized fields. He emphasized that the Ministry aims to ensure effective prevention of non-communicable diseases alongside the management of infectious ones.

Ambassador Masamoto reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s health sector, pledging continued cooperation in controlling both communicable and non-communicable diseases. He assured that Japan remains dedicated to strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of Public Health.
