What kind of virus is HIV?

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that weakens the immune system of the human body. If it is not treated on time, it can lead to AIDS.

This virus cannot reproduce on its own, like some other viruses. In order to multiply, it must attack the red blood cells in the human body.
