A new 150-bed hospital, worth $5 million, was officially launched in Paktia province with the laying of its foundation stone.

The ceremony was attended by several important figures, including the Governor of Paktia, Mawlawi Mihrullah Hamad, representatives from the Ministry of Interior, religious scholars, local officials, tribal elders, representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other key guests.

In his speech, Dr. Miraj Gul Adil, the Director of Public Health for Paktia, shared the following details:

“This hospital will be a four-story building, funded by the United Arab Emirates. It will meet international healthcare standards and include modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. This hospital will provide quality healthcare services to the people of the region.”

Dr. Adil also mentioned that the hospital would reduce the need for local residents to travel to other areas for medical treatment, helping to fill a long-standing gap in healthcare services in the province.
