The event at the Deputy Minister's Office for Food and Drugs’ General Auditorium was attended by Health Minister Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs Hamdullah Zahid, senior officials, and provincial representatives.

His Excellency Jalali described the initiative as a national reform to enhance public health, strengthen the pharmaceutical supply chain, and ensure access to safe, effective, and high-quality medicines, addressing years of substandard drug distribution.

He stressed that all importers and manufacturers must supply medicines that meet strict safety, efficacy, and quality standards to protect community health.

Deputy Minister Zahid called the project a major national achievement, confirming that all pharmacies, wholesalers, and traditional medicine outlets will be surveyed and registered nationwide, and urged public support for its success.

With a budget of 60.8 million Afghanis, the six-month project will survey all pharmacies, electronically re-register licensed outlets, identify unlicensed pharmacies, and redistribute pharmacies according to population needs.
