Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs Visits Farah to Address Food and Medicine Control Challenges at Abu Nasr Farahi Port
During a visit to Farah province, the Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, met the provincial governor at Abu Nasr Farahi Port to discuss challenges related to food and medicines.
The meeting brought together Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid and his delegation, Farah Governor Mawlawi Mohammad Hafiz Mujahid, the provincial public health director, as well as other officials and traders, focusing on resolving food and drug-related issues at the port.
H.E. Zahid outlined national standards for the inspection and control of food and medicines, saying they are based on official decrees and the Ministry of Public Health’s regulatory procedures.
He said the ministry remains committed to ensuring that the public has access to safe, high-quality and standardised food and medicines
The Farah governor said there would be no tolerance for negligence in this area, stressing that existing decrees and laws are binding and must be fully enforced.
The deputy minister also conducted an on-site inspection of Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port and issued recommendations to relevant officials aimed at improving operational management.
