MoPH Holds Telemedicine Consultation Session to Strengthen Orthopedic Care
Telemedicine Program Online Consultation Session Held at Indira Gandhi National and Specialized Children’s Hospital of the Ministry of Public Health
The session was attended by telemedicine program officials, orthopedic specialists, and trainers from central and provincial hospitals. Online consultations were provided for the treatment of orthopedic patients, and patients’ CT scans, MRI results, and X-ray images were reviewed. Patients who could receive treatment in their respective provinces were advised to continue treatment locally, while those requiring further specialized care were referred to the capital city health centers for advanced medical services.
The session also highlighted the importance of preventing unnecessary patient referrals, reducing additional costs and time loss, strengthening the capacity of provincial doctors, and promoting experience sharing among specialists.
It is worth noting that the purpose of such sessions is to enhance the capacity of provincial healthcare workers and improve the delivery of quality healthcare services to patients in the provinces.
