Deputy Minister of Public Health Meets with Biomedical Engineering Officials to Strengthen Medical Equipment Management and Maintenance

Qari Abdul Wali Siddiqi, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration Affairs of the Ministry of Public Health, met with officials and engineers from the Ministry’s Biomedical Engineering Department.

During the meeting, attended by Mawlawi Mohammad Dawood Mansoori, Director of International Relations and Aid Coordination, and Sheikh Mohammad Sakhi Daad Irfan, Administrative Director, the Deputy Minister stressed the importance of organized operations, stronger coordination, and greater attention to responsibilities. He also emphasized that specifications for medical equipment should be drafted accurately, clearly, and in consultation with relevant stakeholders to facilitate procurement and minimize future challenges in their use and maintenance.

The Deputy Minister also urged the officials and engineers of the Biomedical Engineering Department to strengthen oversight of medical equipment in hospitals and make every effort to repair damaged devices. He called for regular reporting and information-sharing with the Ministry to support timely action, emphasizing that medical equipment is a valuable asset that should be properly maintained and repaired whenever possible to remain in service.

In the end, the officials and engineers of the Biomedical Engineering Department shared their challenges and suggestions with the Deputy Minister, who assured them that their concerns would be addressed.
