MoPH Food and Drug Authority Technical Delegation Reviews Food and Drug Regulation in Kandahar
On an official visit to Kandahar Province, a technical delegation from the Food and Drug Authority of the Ministry of Public Health held discussions with officials of the Kandahar Public Health Directorate on preventing smuggling, addressing the operation of substandard facilities in terms of health standards, issuing licenses, and implementing relevant procedures.
The delegation also visited the Quality Control Laboratory of the Food and Drug Department, Taj Watan Food Products Manufacturing Factory, and two pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. While assessing existing challenges and needs, the delegation stressed compliance with technical and health standards, food safety requirements, and the legal procedures for obtaining facility licenses.
In addition, during a meeting with food safety staff, the delegation discussed challenges related to food risk analysis, the processing of licenses for food establishments, and information technology and telecommunications. The delegation also shared necessary recommendations and solutions in these areas.
