Five-Day Training Programme on Bacterial Culture and Antibiogram Completed
The Central Laboratories Department of the Ministry of Public Health conducted a five-day training programme on bacteriological culture and antibiotic susceptibility testing to enhance laboratory service quality and strengthen national capacity to detect and combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The programme brought together 15 laboratory professionals from provincial and regional laboratories, alongside relevant units of the Central Laboratories Department.
Participants received hands-on training in bacteriological culture techniques, specimen processing, bacterial identification, antibiogram testing, and assessing bacterial susceptibility to antimicrobial agents.
The programme also covered essential aspects of laboratory biosafety and the safe management of laboratory waste.
