Foundation Stone Laid for Mass Immunization Building in Paktika Province

This building is being constructed through the efforts and coordination of the Ministry of Public Health, with the financial and technical support of UNICEF, at a cost of approximately thirteen million Afghanis, and the construction work will be completed within six months.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Services of the Ministry of Public Health, His excellency Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; a number of central directors of the ministry; the Governor of Paktika, His excellency Mawlawi Abdul Khaliq Abid; the Director of Public Health, Dr. Abdullah Jan Haqmal; UNICEF officials; and health workers.

Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, called the construction of the building part of the commitment made in the health sector. He described this action as a great achievement for the residents of Paktika and said, “The Ministry of Public Health is trying its best to address the problems and demands of the countrymen and to further strengthen and standardize health services.”
