The meeting was held in collaboration with the ultrasound board specialists of the General Directorate of Postgraduate Medical Studies and the Diagnostic Directorate of the MoPH. It was attended by Qari Abdul Wali Siddiqi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration Affairs; Dr. Nisar Ahmad Niazi, Director General of Postgraduate Medical Studies; and ultrasound specialists from both the public and private sectors.

Discussions focused on professional ultrasound training provided by these instructors, preventing unauthorized ultrasound centers, improving the quality of services, and enhancing coordination between the private sector and the Ministry of Public Health.

The Deputy Minister thanked the specialists for their efforts in ultrasound training and said that the ultrasound field has made good progress. He added that efforts are underway to activate the ultrasound section at the Ministry’s Radiology Institute to provide more professional training for doctors and improve services for patients.

It was said that the first phase of a one-year ultrasound training program will soon be launched at the Radiology Institute of the Ministry of Public Health for 75 participants from remote and underserved provinces, with training to be provided by professional instructors from both the public and private sectors.
