Deputy Minister of Health Promotion and Policy Meets with a Team of Iranian Senior Oncologists

Kabul, Afghanistan – The Deputy Minister for Health Promotion and Policy at the Ministry of Public Health, His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiyasi, formally received a delegation of senior specialists from the Islamic Republic of Iran during an official meeting held at his office.
The discussions centered on strengthening long-term cooperation in the field of cancer treatment in Afghanistan. Key areas of focus included the advancement of specialized training programs for Afghan healthcare professionals, the provision and upgrading of medical equipment for oncology centers, and the establishment of more robust coordination frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality cancer care across the country.
The visiting Iranian delegation, composed of distinguished oncology experts, has been actively engaged in offering free cancer treatment services to patients in the provinces of Kabul, Balkh, Herat, and Kandahar over the past several days.
On behalf of the Ministry’s leadership, Dr. Ghiyasi conveyed deep appreciation for the generous contributions and technical support provided by the Iranian specialists. He reiterated the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to fostering comprehensive collaboration aimed at expanding access to advanced cancer treatment services throughout Afghanistan.
