During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing the capacity of health workers to provide services to earthquake victims, cooperation in the fields of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, the provision of medical equipment to health centers, and broader bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

His Excellency Jalali described cooperation between the two countries in the health sector as essential and stated: “Since the recent earthquakes in the eastern part of the country have caused significant damage to the people, it is necessary to provide better health services to the earthquake victims and the injured.”

H.E. Jalali also requested Kazakhstan to further enhance its capacity and share its expertise in the fields of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, radiology services, and neurosurgery, adding that Kazakhstan has previously cooperated in the health sector and expressing hope that it will continue to share its experience and support in these areas.

On the other hand, the Kazakh ambassador stated that Afghanistan is a friendly country and that they are working to provide training opportunities for Afghan health workers in various fields, as well as to continue cooperation in the health sector. He also announced the imminent arrival of a 20-member surgical technical team to perform free surgeries for the earthquake victims.
