MoPH Signs $189,501 MoU with WAW to Support Vulnerable Returnee and IDP Families in Four Provinces
The Ministry of Public Health signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), valued at $189,501, with Women for Afghan Women (WAW) to provide social and economic protection to vulnerable returnee and internally displaced families and children in Balkh, Jawzjan, Kunduz, and Baghlan provinces, and to facilitate access to the support and services they need.
The MoU aims to improve the quality of healthcare services, expand access to healthcare, and help address the health needs of the communities. Under the MoU, 18,239 residents of the aforementioned provinces will have access to healthcare services through 11 health facilities, while 20 employment opportunities will be created in the health sector.
Representatives of WAW also assured that the project would be implemented in accordance with all established standards, with particular attention given to addressing the healthcare needs of the local communities.
