A meeting was held in Kabul to improve coordination with heads of diagnostic departments at central hospitals

The meeting was organised by the Diagnostic Services Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health and took place at Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital. It was attended by the Director General of Curative Medicine, Dr Wahdat Alokozai; the Director of Diagnostic Services, Dr Mohammad Qasim Sahebi; and heads of diagnostic departments from Kabul hospitals.

Dr Alokozai said improving diagnostic services, equipping departments, strengthening coordination, and building staff capacity were key priorities. He called on participants to share their challenges with the ministry to help implement planned reforms.

Dr Sahebi said the ministry aims to introduce fundamental reforms in hospital diagnostic departments. He asked hospitals to submit their needs and procurement plans for the coming year to allow necessary action.

Heads of diagnostic departments also shared their suggestions and concerns with ministry officials to improve diagnostic services.
