Technical Meeting Held to Review Guidelines on Control and Prevention of AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Hepatitis
The meeting was organized by the National AIDS, STDs and Hepatitis Control Program of the Ministry of Public Health and was attended by the Deputy Minister for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani; central directors of the ministry, and representatives of national and international organizations as well as implementing partners.
Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, said the guideline aims to improve service quality and the management of AIDS and hepatitis patients, calling on participants to share their technical views and suggestions to finalize it in line with national and international standards.
The deputy minister also highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry of Public Health to control AIDS and hepatitis, noting that these efforts are still insufficient and calling on international partners to cooperate with the ministry in this regard.
Dr. Mohammadullah Norzada, technical coordinator of the Ministry of Public Health’s National AIDS, STDs, and Hepatitis Control Program, along with program colleagues, briefed participants on the guideline review, their organizations’ activities, challenges, solutions, and recommendations.
National and international partners shared their views on improving the guideline, and Dr. Haider Khan Haider, Director General of Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Public Health, pledged to use their feedback to enhance the guideline.
