Over the past week, the quality assessment of 2,971 varieties of pharmaceuticals and food products has been conducted

The Directorate of Food and Drug Regulation, under the Ministry of Public Health, through the Central Laboratory for Food and Drug Control and Quality Assurance, analyzed 2,964 types of pharmaceuticals and 7 categories of food products within the past week. Among these, 21 samples failed the quality test, while 172 were rejected due to various reasons. The analysis of these samples resulted in the deposit of 2,012,614 Afghanis into the government’s account.
Notably, due to recent regulatory streamlining in the legal importation of pharmaceuticals and food products, the number of tested samples has increased. In the near future, state-of-the-art laboratories will be established across the four key regions of the country to enhance the monitoring and quality control of food and pharmaceuticals.
