10-Bed Intensive Care Unit Opens at Takhar Provincial Specialized Hospital

A 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been established at Takhar Provincial Specialized Hospital at a cost of AFN 32 million from the Ministry of Public Health’s internal budget and has been inaugurated and put into service to provide care to patients.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services; Mawlawi Samiullah Hizbullah, Governor of Takhar; Mawlawi Sheikh Mir Saddam, Director of Public Health of Takhar; Dr. Nisar Ahmad Niazi, Director of Postgraduate Medical Education of the MoPH; and a number of health officials and staff.

Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani described the opening of the ICU as an important step toward strengthening healthcare services in Takhar. He added that the Ministry is committed to expanding specialized, quality, and critical care services across the country, so that citizens can receive the healthcare services they need in a timely manner in their own provinces and communities.
