Ministry of Public Health Signs USD 1.02 Million MoU with HEWAD to Expand Health Services

The Ministry of Public Health signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth USD 1,022,505 with HEWAD to expand access to integrated health services for mothers and children in Badakhshan, Badghis, Ghazni, Helmand, Kabul, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Nangarhar, Paktya, Panjshir, Sar-e-Pul, Takhar, Uruzgan, and Zabul provinces.

The MoU was signed for a period of one year to improve the quality and accessibility of health services and help reduce health-related challenges among the population. Under the MoU, 111,894 residents of the aforementioned provinces will benefit from health services through 35 health facilities providing psychosocial support services, while 204 people will be provided with employment opportunities in the health sector.

Meanwhile, representatives of HEWAD assured that the project would be implemented in full compliance with all established standards over the one-year period, with particular emphasis on addressing the healthcare needs of the local communities.
