Three-Day Training Program on Quality Control Laboratory Management Begins

A three-day training programme on “Quality Control Laboratory Management” was launched by the Afghanistan Food and Drug Authority (AFDA) of the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), for 44 staff members from provincial quality control laboratories at the AFDA main conference hall.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Drugs of the MoPH, stressed the importance of making effective use of the training opportunity, strengthening staff members’ professional capacities, and sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues in the provinces.

Participants will receive training on various topics, including quality control and quality assurance, good laboratory practices, laboratory safety, management of equipment and chemicals, the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, and quality management systems (QMS).

The program aims to build the capacity of provincial laboratory staff, strengthen quality management systems, and improve the quality control of food, medicines, and health products across the country.
