Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali Meets Dmitry Zhirnov to Boost Afghanistan–Russia Health Cooperation
In his official office, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Mr. Dmitry Zhirnov, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in the health sector, training and capacity building of Afghan specialists in cancer and heart diseases, facilitating Afghan delegation visits to Russia for experience sharing, importing quality medicines from Russia at reasonable prices in the short term, and encouraging Russian investment in pharmaceutical production.
Welcoming the Russian delegation, the Minister of Public Health emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector, noting that Afghanistan and Russia maintain good relations that positively impact the health system, and expressed Afghanistan’s interest in benefiting from Russia’s experience in healthcare.
The Russian Ambassador said that Russia is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the health sector, including improving laboratory standards and building the capacity of Afghan doctors, and would facilitate an Afghan delegation’s visit to Russia.
