Public awareness programs on drug prevention were conducted in two schools in Khost and Ghor Provinces
Officials from the 80-bed Drug Rehabilitation Hospital in Khost, under the Ministry of Public Health’s National Drug Treatment Program, conducted awareness sessions for students and teachers at Khalbasat School in Sabari District. Similarly, a mobile team from the 20-bed Drug Treatment Hospital in Ghor delivered similar programs at Poza Leech School.
The programs provided a clear and comprehensive explanation of the social, economic, psychological, and health harms of drug use. They also highlighted the individual, physical, mental, and social consequences of addiction, while offering key information on prevention, early identification of drug users, and referral to treatment centers.
