Deputy Minister of Health Services Meets WHO/EMRO Representatives on Strengthening Health Data Systems

Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health of the IEA, Met with Several Representatives from the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.

The meeting addressed the assessment of health data flows, the extent of participation by relevant sectors, the identification of data governance and technical gaps, support for health system integration, and the promotion of data digitization.

His Excellency Haqqani highlighted the importance of health data and evidence in policy formulation and decision-making, and stressed the need for greater efforts to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Public Health aims to implement activities and achieve its set goals through systematic coordination mechanisms with implementing partners and donor agencies in the aforementioned areas.
