MoPH Signs AFN 34.2 Million MoU with RI to Strengthen Health Services in Nimroz and Helmand

The Ministry of Public Health signed a 20-month Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), worth AFN 34,288,106, with Relief International (RI) to support primary healthcare services, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria programmes, and health system strengthening in Nimroz and Helmand provinces.

The MoU was signed to improve the quality of healthcare services, expand access to healthcare, and reduce health-related challenges faced by the communities. Under the MoU, 2,237,794 residents of the two provinces will benefit from healthcare services provided through 142 health facilities and 788 health posts, while 13 people will be provided with employment opportunities in the health sector.

Representatives of RI also expressed their commitment to implementing the project over the 20-month period in accordance with all established standards, with particular attention to addressing the healthcare needs of the local communities.
